Top Stops In Arizona On Route 66
The Painted Desert is going to be our first area of interest and this is really one of the most amazing This desert park begins Lupton, Arizona and goes on for a long way, there are over 100 miles of dessert that is include here. You will see many colors on the sides of the sheared off cliffs and there are few more beautiful places on earth. We will admit that there is not a lot to do here besides sight see, but after all we are here for cruise, right?
The Jackrabbit Trading Post located in Joseph City, Arizona is a one of kind trading posts that really brings back the memories of the Route 66 days where big signs and strange places were “where its at”. This trading post was built by a man named James Taylor (no not the singer) in 1949 and is still in operation today. You can stop on in here and check out some southwestern art and get many other locally created goods and nick knacks. With many competing trading posts with similar goods, this one decided to make their mark by doing something different with the outside décor to draw attention and it works. Don’t forget to take a picture of the giant rabbit on the roof!
